Made my first visit to Jakarta, arrived at Soekarno Airport and made my way to a friend's place located at Kemang Selatan. In a nut shell, it was a great experience but really nothing to shout about. Well, i guess if you come from Kuala Lumpur, you wouldn't find anything impressive in Jakarta. Corruption is right smacked in front of your eyes, people wait to make a fast and huge buck from you but they are generally very friendly and warm.
What really impressed me was the 'Nasgor', in Malaysia known as'Nasi Goreng'. Yes, the 'Nasgor' fried fresh in little carts at the side of the roads are really mouth watering! It's fried rice with such taste, flavour and aroma together with the 'keropok' that's simply unexplainable in words! it's Yum-Yum-Yummy!!! I heard lately that President Barack Obama commented highly on 'Nasgor', he Loves it !!!
I must say, that Jakarta really has a lot to do to buck up especially in terms of public transportation, roads, traffic congession & food hygiene. I stayed in a very high end housing area and it's Jakarta i'm talking about, what would be the situation then in other parts of Indonesia?
