I hear that Prime Minister Dato'Seri Najib Tun Razak has made KPIs mandatory for his Cabinet Ministers as a means to keep them on their toes. It's believe that this November will be the first time the KPIs of every minister will be looked at & dealt by the PM.
Well, i must say he is trying his best to jump start the delivery system and i'm sure his brother being the CEO of a reputable bank is very familiar with KPIs.
I totally disagree with KPIs simply because i feel that it makes people work in a system that becomes more rigid everyday, it doesn't allow an individual to think out of the box. It's what i call 'Corporate Rigidity'.
Now every Cabinet minister will end up becoming clones or mutants! No one will be a special individual with special capabilities because they will be 'rushing mad' to fulfill all the mandatory KPIs. This is really unhealthy in an ever changing business, economical and political environment.
